As a leading provider of sporting goods, we take pride in offering the best products and services. We are dedicated to serving the needs of our customers each and every day. We have been in business since 2009, and our staff has years of experience in providing great customer service. We offer Sports attire and equipment for every need, from school sports and school spirit to skateboard needs.
Please share a day in the life of your role and responsibilities at the company:
As an employee of a small business, I do a little bit of everything. When I am not helping customers, I am working with accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, purchasing, and pretty much anything else.
For what specific business challenges did you choose Retail Pro?
I ran Retail Pro in another store called Valley Sporting Goods for many years and loved it then too. With Retail Pro Prism, we replaced the Counterpoint system and we are so happy that it's working better on the credit cards specifically. It's much better than Counterpoint in such a critical area: security. It gets harder and harder to keep up with PCI compliance, but Retail Pro is out of scope for PCI compliance, which makes that a lot easier for us. Retail Pro makes me feel safer with my customers' data.
What business challenges are you solving with the software today?
I have used 4 different POS systems and they all have the same problem with security. Retail Pro Prism makes me feel safer with my customers' data.
Has your Retail Pro been specially configured or customized for your business needs? What challenges or needs were these customizations designed to address? Please describe.
Retail Pro Prism was a good fit for us even without much customization. The only thing we really did was customize the credit feature for charges on account. Our Retail Pro Business Partner, Big Hairy Dog, made us a custom report to show customer charges. We also use a POS flag to mark the payment status on invoices.
What does the future look like for your company? What are some of your plans for growth, expansion, customer initiatives, etc.?
Our future is looking really promising! When we started the business over 10 years ago, we didn't think for one second we could be where we are at now. We adapt our operations over time to adjust to the ever-evolving retail market, and Retail Pro Prism helps us stay ahead of the curve.
